Ways to Travel to the Airport

With seemingly hundreds of things to think about when booking a holiday, travel to the airport before you've even set off can often fall by the wayside. People spend hours trawling the internet for deals and offers, foregoing aeroplane meals and star ratings on their hotels to save all the money they can. Then, a week before the date of travel, panic sets in and the call to the taxi company is made. £50 later and suddenly all those hours sat at a computer desk squeezing every penny seem to be in vain.


Airport transfers on the other side of the journey can often be a deal-breaker when booking a holiday. For peace of mind and ease of arms, stepping off the aeroplane and straight onto a bus that will take you directly to your hotel is, for most people, a prerequisite and few holidays are booked without it. Yet when it comes to the mirrored journey from home to the airport, or from the airport to any central location in London, it's often left out or forgotten entirely.


There are companies offering services that provide this service at a fraction of the cost trains or taxis, but as it's not bundled into the holiday package, it's often not taken up. As a result you see people rummaging round their Immodium and aftersun to find their Oyster Cards, whilst their enormous bags swing pendulously and make the gates to the Underground look like a scene from The Chuckle Brothers Go Abroad.


There are, as with most things, easier and cheaper ways just a short search away, for those who approach their holiday with a modicum of preparedness and forethought. And just think of all the strawberry daquiris you could buy with all the money you'd save.
